Chief Financial Officer
David Lesniak joined Retriever Merchant Solutions in January 2013. With nearly 15 years in payment systems Finance and Operations, David is well suited to serve the RMS team, agents and merchants as a hands-on financial executive. This includes a wide range of projects from operations audits to evaluating the processes and programs that will best serve the interests of the business, agents and merchants.
David became a part of the National Processing Company (NPC) family of businesses when he joined its subsidiary Best Payment Solutions after college. Starting as an Internal Operations Analyst, David was promoted to analyst positions of increasing responsibility, eventually moving up to VP Finance and Operations, and Managing Officer. Ultimately, he oversaw financial forecasting and compliance, billing, commission payouts, Interchange analysis, among other areas.
A self-confessed data-driven person, David appreciates the importance and value of the personal side of business. “Data cannot tell you the whole story. No matter what the situation, I try to look at things from the perspective of the people involved. Our behavior is driven by how we feel, which affects the business outcome. To be fair, to always learn and do better; that’s the goal.”
David attended DePaul University in Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1999 and a Master of Arts degree in Economics in 2006. While there he was a member of the Delta Mu Delta and Golden Key Honor societies. Today, David participates on the Orland Park Advisory Board assisting in several areas including strategic planning for the village. In his free time, he likes to golf and travel with his wife.
